WIP: Termagants

My painting technique has a flaw...takes bloody long to dry. Here's a WIP photo! You can actually spy the one without the carapace done yet. The skin is based on Bleached Bone followed by a wash of Warlock Purple. Both stages require a lot of drying time!

Carapace is Chaos Black. I am still deciding on the base rim colour but I reckon it'll be a dark gray to contrast with the lighter skin tone.

  1. Ooohh very nice!! I am totally diggin' the way you do the purple highlights on the organic parts of the gant. How'd u do it?

  2. Nothing special really. Just Warlock Purple really watery and slosh it between the joints as a wash. I then go back with Blaeched Bone to clear up the mess left on the skin.

  3. Does anyone have any idea how to make home made wash? I want to take a normal paint and turn it into GW style wash...ie enough pigment in the wash so that I don't have to do multi coats.

  4. Hmmm, if the GW Washes dun have the color you want..then maybe mix the primary color with the wash. ..Warlock Purple with devlan mud or badab black?

    Have you tried Leviathan Purple?

  5. LOL I can't do that! It will change the tinge and make it too dark!

Leviathan Purple is such a different colour!
