Congratulations to Alex from my Hong Kong gaming group. I play with them almost every weekend and Alex has always been my partner in crime when it came to the Tyranids. I just got wind that he placed top on the recent 40k Tournament which is held once a year. Pictured below is his winning army!
For those of you who like a blow by blow account of his games, head on over to http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=214691 to check out his detailed battle reports.
To quote Alex:
1st Captain Agemman (Vulkan) 190
Squad Tiresius - 7x Thunderhammer/Storm Shield Terminators 280
Tactical Squad Lucius w/ Rhino, Power Sword, Multi-Melta and Flamer 220
Tactical Squad Scipio w Rhino, Multi-Melta and Flamer 205
Combat Squad Vipus w/ Rhino and Melta Bombs 130
Scout Squad Aremacus w/ Camo Cloaks and Sniper Rifles 90
2x Landspeeders 'Varus' and 'Elius' w/ Multi-Melta and Heavy Flamer
3x Vindicators 'Hammer of Macragge', 'Hera's Vengeance' and 'Righteous Fury' 345
Basically the plan was for the rhinos to rush forward and get to mid-table while shielding the vindicators as they advanced into range. The scouts would hold an objective and allow the tactical marines more freedom. The terminators would march ahead of the vehicles as best as possible and act as a skirmish line. And the landspeeders would zip around on either anti-tank or anti-infantry duty depending on opponent and situation.
